I BOUGHT ONE OF THESE ITEMS SOME TIME AGO. CUSTOMER NUMBER 112838. ORDER NUMBER OR123361. IT HAS WORN OUT, YOUR GAURANTEE SAYS IT WONT. HOW CAN I GET A REPLACEMENT PLEASE.

Thane says...
The manufacturer provides a life-time guarantee with the discs themselves. Whenever you need a new disc, simply return the old used one to the address provided on your guarantee and they will replace it. Very simple.

I have 2 discs and they are brilliant, but I have lost the joint (front and rear), arbour and fastening screw which means that I cnt use the discs. Is it possible to buy the bits that I need?

- If you bought the product from us and you are within your year warranty, please call our Customer Services on 0871 437 0212.

Unfortunately, if this is not the case we would be unable to assist.

Will the disc sand a varnished floor without the disc getting clogged up?

Thane says:
It will sand a floor but it may be too harsh if you want a light sanding, it really depends what you are trying to achieve.

when disc is assembled as required and fully tightened it is still possible to turn the disc by hand. is this as expected.joseph.

Thane says:
You should ensure that the disc is tight and cannot move - the washers should prevent this.

Can the sparks that come from the disc when cutting metal cause a fire?

Kind regards
John

Thane says:
John, it is very important that you do not create sparks in an environment where there is a risk of the sparks catching light such as near dry sawdust or oiled rags. Naturally, sparks can create fire and so usual care should be taken.

Just got disks etc yesterday and they're perfect for the job I needed them for but after a few hours of on/off use the screw which holds the disk in place has snapped off. Can I get a replacement drill connector from anywhere? The box didn't contain any instruction manual or an address for Aston so I'm stuck for what to do next.

Thane says:
Email customer services, you are entitled to a replacement connector and this is no problem. The address for replacement discs is also listed below.

is the disc able to cut through granite ? i have a granite work top that needs cutting down to fit. regards kevin

Thane says:
Yes, it should but it depends on a few other factors such as type of granite. We cannot see why it would not work though.

This disc is quality for little jobs around the house, I've used it exstensively and I have yet to be dissapointed. i have set the fire alarm off when sanding wood the heat was so great yet the disc remained cool. The disc dosnt like paint and collects paint but still cuts. I have returned one disc I destroyed(too keen) but I had used it on various jobs before and they sent me two discs back. (happy with that). Im totally satisfied with the product. No more sandpaper for me. Thanks.

Could you tell me how much it costs for you to post a disc to me if it wears out under guarantee

Thane says:
You will see in theinstructions that you send this item back to Aston Trading(UK) who are the manufacturers. They will send you a new disc if you cover the cost of their shipping and handling. You can ask for new discs as often as you need under the terms of the guarantee.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Feb 22, 2007, 6:59 am by Steve

In just 8 minutes of cutting through normal domestic brick (to create a small opening) the disc wore down.

Thane says:
Steve you need to closely follow the instructions with the use of this item to get the best from it. The instructions also show you how to redeem your lifetime guarantee and get new discs sent to you every time they wear down. It is impossible to cut a brick for 8 minutes constantly without creating some wear on the cutting disc, that is why we offer a lifetime replacement service.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Feb 19, 2007, 1:04 pm by Vonnie

hi i just wanted to know dose the disc cut bricks

Thane says:
Yes these discs cut bricks - just follow the instructions that come with the product.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Dec 21, 2006, 12:50 pm by Adam

I was just wondering how long i can expect these discs to last me? Many thanks,

A: Hi Adam, this is a difficult question because it depends on how much you use it and what you are cutting. But remember you have a lifetime guarantee. Just pay the postage and the manufacturer will replace the cutting discs.
