I ordered my Platinum Oven and accessory pack on boxing day (26th) - it arrived today (30th) - WOW - what a great service especially as we are in the middle of the holidays! What can I say - its AMAZING. I did consider buying a JML oven at half the price but i am SO GLAD I DIDN'T...........this is by far superior - it looks classy and well made. My first trial was chicken - wonderful!!

Just 2 quick questions if I may ask: -

1) Can I use my silicon bakeware in my Flavorware?
2) The recipe in the handy dispenser which came with the oven states that that you can cook eggs on the breakfast rack (part of the accessory pack) - it doesn't mention if you have to prick the eggs before cooking - will they explode if I just put them in as they do in the microwave?

Many thanks and keep up the good work - your products are amazing and the service is excellent!

Thane says:
We try our best to ensure that our deliveries are fast, even over the holidays and our order agents and warehouse teams worked really hard to get your goods to you so yo can enjoy them straight away.
We are glad you like our Flavorwave oven, we have worked very hard to ensure it is the best halogen oven of its type and think your comments prove that we have achieved that!

In answer to your questions:
1) Yes you can use Silicone Bakeware - but we suggest that you are careful to use good quality silicone bakeware and do not put the silicone products too close to the heat element as silicone can still melt even in a regular oven or halogen oven - we suggest that you can use a common sense approach here.

2) You do not need to prick the eggs - this is a different type of cooking to a microwave.

Keep on enjoying your Flavorwave and lets us know how you get on.

I received a FlavorWave oven for X-Mas. I used it for the first time yesterday and made some very delicious and crisp "guiltless" fried chicken and perfect french fries . All w/o any oil or grease. This is an amazing product and I know that I will use it all of the time. I just love the self-cleaning feature. Two thumbs up!!

There is no information about the money back guarantee. Can I return the flavorwave if I am not happy with it or only if it is faulty.

Thane says...We currently offer a 30day money back guarantee period. With the economic climate changing day by day, this may be reconsidered so best by now

Thane says...Yes the oven is operating correctly. The light flicks off/on about every 10-15 secs

Posted on Nov 24, 2008, 3:55 pm by Ads

I'm thinking about buying the Platinum model - is the extender ring compatible with it and will I still need to use it or does the arm mean the lid is higher than the Turbo?

I have just received my flavourwave and being the impatient sort I threw in a pork chop and 2 sausages found in the bottom of my freezer. They cooked to perfection. Have just finished a batch of potato wedges. They are great. Now I am going out to buy some flour to try Yorkshire puddings. I have no success with these normally. Will let you know how it goes.

Thane says... Sounds delicious!

I have had my Flavor Wave Oven for a number of years and I think it is excellent. The cover is now cracked and I would like to order a new oven.Do you have a recipe book which gives quantities in actual measurements rather than "cups"?

Thane says...The measurements are in cups but a simple conversion table should help you.

Hi Thane
Can you confirm that the discount code "TURBO" applies only to the standard product and not the Platinum upgrade.

Thane says... The TURBO discount code has ended now. The current offer is half price delivery. Quote FLAVP for the platinum model and FLAVT for the turbo.

Posted on Sep 25, 2008, 8:15 am by Mrs

Could i please purchase a recipe/cook book for the flavourwave

We do not sell the book separately I'm afraid. Every Thane Direct Flavourwave Oven is supplied with a manual/cook book so I can only assume you purchased a halogen oven from elsewhere. Buy Thane and You Buy The Best!

Is it normal for the light in the bowl to come on and off during cooking-I wish I had known about it before as it is very distracting.

Thane Says: Yes this is normal, the light going on and off is a sign that the temperature inside the bowl has reach its desired temp.

I want to buy the Flavawave Turbo oven. How long it will tke for delivery and is there any UK outlet. Is the oven compatible to use in India also.

Thane Says: The majority of ordered are delivered within 5-7 days but please allow up to 28 days. You can prioritise your order for £3.95 and you should then recieve it within 2-3 working days. Posted on Jul 24, 2008, 4:48 am by Dave

is this a up grade of the newwave oven

Thane says... Yes it is, plus now you can also upgrade further to the Platinum digital version

Posted on Jul 21, 2008, 6:04 pm by Brian

Can you tell me how this differs from the cheaper versions I have seen elsewhere please?

Thane says:
This product is manufactured for Thane only and is a very high quality model Halogen Turbo oven. It is VERY different side by side to other ovens which looks confusingly similar. Different type of heat (not all are really Infra red (even when they claim they are!), different bulb, different glass (Not all are made of food grade glass amazingly!), different cable (ours is high quality flex suitable for kitchens and high heat ovens), different accessories. We think if you had the choice you would prefer to spend the extra few pounds for the piece of mind that you have the high quality product from Thane and the customer service back up we offer.

Sorry to ask another question. If fats and oils are removed, is the food left dry ?

Thane says... No not at all, the food is left succulent and juicy

Posted on Jun 8, 2008, 5:33 pm by Marc

is this the new deluxe version - i.e. with a glass dome top (rather than plastic)?

Thane says:
Yes - this uses a glass bowl.
