"I love that it cleans my floors so quickly & so effectively. I love the steam power action of it and the fact that I can maneuvers it; it cleans every area of my flooring - it's amazing! "

"I don't have to scrub or bend, or do anything. "

"It lifts up every spec of dirt. It's just amazing! "

"I run a daycare center and we have lots of kids here; some days 30 or 40 kids and there are so many messes (crayons, glue, glitter, ice cream). You name it; it gets spilt on the floor and it's such a mess. The H2O Mop® cleans my floors and the carpets. It cleans the messes; the glue, the glitter all the sticky stuff on the floor gets picked up..

I feel at ease knowing that it's just water - there are no chemicals , and that is so important. The kids are crawling around the floor. They're busy playing, they're having lots of fun. And they are not getting any chemicals left over on their hands from the mop on their hands and putting them in their mouth.

The H2O Mop® has made this Day Care Center a cleaner place to be. ".

"I recommend using the H2O Mop® on hardwood floors because it doesn't rely on a detergent or anything like that to clean the floors. It uses just the precise amount of steam necessary to get the floor clean. You are not leaving the water behind that is clean. You are not leaving the water behind that is going to cause damage on your floors. When the steam comes out, it comes out hot, dries very fast, and the microfiber pad on the mop is picking up most of the moisture that is left. So it does a great great job at cleaning the hardwood.

It is important that my customers use the H2O Mop® on their floor because it's an excellent cleaning device, it rely's on steam. It does a deep cleaning, it sanitizes their floor. It's not causing them to go out and use chemicals which could leave residue on their floor.

One of the biggest problems the floors we sell; customers generally are not happy about the way they look after a few years. Most of the time it's a maintenance issue, there is nothing wrong with the floor. The floors just haven't been cleaned properly and using the H2O Mop® would eliminate all those problems. "

I have purchased a H20 mop, it has been assembled and the special blue pad for laminated and other floors has been attached properly, the green light does come on but the floor is dry when using the mop for the first 30 seconds but then an excessive amount of water starts to come out from the bottom of the mop.

Whar do i do

I have bought the H20 mop to use on an Amtico floor. I have followed the instructions and also read the messages on this page.
Despite that the mop is leaving my floor very wet although lots of steam is coming out and it takes a age to dry.
Please help.

Thane says:
When you purchased your H2o mop you received a super absorbant cloth. We recommend using this. Also, there are many factors like the weather and ventilation and floor temperature which will determine how quickly your floor dries, however your floor should not be "wet".

can you use the h20 mop on solid wood?

Thane says:
Yes, I use it on my Oak floors to great effect!

Hi, Can you confirm is it safe to clean different types of floors at same time with same pad. That is after cleaning wooden floor in Kitchen can I go straight into living room to clean the carpet with same pad?

Thane says:

Switching from wooden floors to carpet? Best to use the Carpet Glider on carpet, This is included with your purchase!

Thanks
Paul

Our advert states 220V 3 pin version. The advert does however show a picture of the American plug as this advert was made in the USA. We ONLY sell UK compliant products on this site!

Am I doing something wrong, my floor was very wet and took an hour to dry. Seems i have water rather than steam coming out. Help please.

Please ensure that the tank is attached correctly, and that the light has changed colour before use.
Also ensure you are moving the mop in a fairly rapid motion.

If this does not help, there may be a problem with the mop.

In this case please contact our Customer Services!

I would like to use the H2O mop for my house cleaning calls. Will it be suitable and how long before l change the microfibre pads if l use it for 3x in a week. Will this be a wise purchase for house cleaning business.

Thane says... The H2O Mop will do you proud but remember to buy spare pads when you purchase the mop. Also ask us about the coral super absorbent pads - it's fabulous

I have bought the H2O mop last month and am using it since. It is wonderful to clean carpet and the tiled floor. I have vacuam cleaned prior using the H2o mop and then I used it. The floor that appeared so clean after the vacuam clean contained unbeliavable amount of dirt and I bearly believed my eyes. I wonder, is it safe to use some camicle mixing with the water? e. g: savlon or other floor cleaning or carpet scenting liquid? It would be wonderful though.

Thane says... You cannot mix any chemicals but you could use scented ironing water

Reviewer's comments: Posted on May 15, 2008, 7:44 am by Shad

Do you have heavy duty pads for the H2O Mop?

Thane says.. We will be selling a heavy duty cloth called the Coral cloth in the future, stock should arrive sometime in June

I love the floor mop ! I use it on ceramic and maple wood floors ! Terrific ! However I would like more information on uses for the portable steam cleaner.

Thane says:
Use the portable seamer for general household cleaning, in the kitchen, bathroom indeed anywhere which could use the power of steam to shift the dirt and grime.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on May 7, 2008, 6:39 pm by Derek

I have stopped steaming which could be due to lime scale. I see you recommend a descaler but can you suggest a product

Thane says... any standard liquid descaler should do the trick

I so interested in the H2O mop but before I buy it I need to know if it cleans stains in carpets just with steam becuase I have a baby crawling around I don't want to use chemicals.

I'm interested in purchasing a h2o mop, i was wondering can you add small drops of lavender oils or tea tree or other oils into the water, to help fragrance the carpets? And is the offer for the steam cleaner still available when you buy a mop.

Thane says... I think you mean the portable steamer offer and yes that is still running right now. I wouldn't recommnd using oils but you could consider using fragranced ironing water if its a lovely scent you're after

My house is entirely done with carpet with heavy traffic areas, so has become flat at many places. Do you suggest shampo done first before using the H2O to revitalise the carpet. There are no stains on the carpet.

Thane says:
In your case, just steam the carpet with the H2O mop and it will revitalise the pile.

Hi. I have been using my steam mop for a year now and I am very satisfied with it. However, just like any other electrical appliances, like a kettle or an iron, limescale has probably built up and it has stopped producing steam. Is there any way to clean this? How do I get my mop to work like it used to? Thanks

Thane says:
If you have a build up of Calc then you can try using a descaler, we also supply replaceable filters which you can buy from us in sets. These prevent build up of limescale.

I recently bought the H2O mop, along with a portable steam cleaner.
I would like to say how VERY impressed I am, with both items. They are 2 of the best purchases I have made, for a long time. Anybody who has a hard surface floor, with family and pets, really should not be without the mop. I have also used it on my carpets, in between deep cleaning with a carpet shampoo machine and it revitalises and freshens, immediately.
When used on my ceramic tiles in the kitchen, there is, as some people have commented on, some remaining water. If steam comes into contact with a cold surface, there is bound to be water! It dries in minutes, leaving a clean and hygienic surface.
THANK YOU for such brilliant products. I am one very happy customer!

Thane says....
Thanks for pointing out that if steam used against a cold floor will leave some water. I wish all of a customers were as realistic as yourself. It's a fab product and you are a fab customer. Come back soon!

Before purchasing this i watched your advert on tv and was impressed by what i saw, quick drying floors. this is not the case i have tried both the microfibre cloth and the disposable one both were soaking wet and left my floor drenched. I will be returning both mops ordered as myself and my mum ordered these at the same time.

I just received my H2O steam mop this weekend and I am very happy with it. I have 2 large boxers who share my home and it is quite a chore cleaning up after them. The H2O mop did a great job on my ceramic tile and laminate wood floor. It would be nice if the powercord was a little longer though. Also, I'm not sure why it took over 10 days to ship to me when I paid extra for express shipping. Oh well, I'm still satisfied with the product thus far.

i have seen the advert and intereseted in buying however, does it come with attachments like the shark as i need it for laminated, carpet and around the bathroom ie taps, shower sides e.t.c.? i only want to buy a steamer once and want the most versatile i can get.

- The H2O mop is solely intended for doing floors.

You may want to look at the H2O portable steamer (which is available for free- just pay postage if you order a H2O mop!) for this purpose.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Mar 28, 2008, 10:21 am by Graham

We have an average size kitchen and found that the floor was being left quite wet by the end. The pad was quite wet from the condensed steam. How long should you be able to use the machine on a laminate floor before this wetness becomes a problem

-A few people find that their floors are left a little wetter than their original expectations, but the amount of water that is left on the floor is due to many different issues:

1) The user should keep moving the mop and should find it takes very little time to clean.

2) Never leave the mop on when you are not cleaning, turn of the steam with the trigger.

3) Some atmospheric conditions will leave floors with more water than other surfaces, this can depend on the humidity and heat of the room and the coldness of the floor.

4) The type of floor can also make a difference. .

5) If you have a large area, it is often preferable to use the micro fibre cloth as the disposable cloths have a slightly limited range in comparison.

In my experience as a user of this product, it works great but you have to remember that steam has to evaporate and will turn to water as you clean, you have to adjust to this and you will find life is a lot easier with this mop!

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Mar 28, 2008, 8:57 am by Stacey

i am interested in the h2o but im not convinced that it really cleans up with just steam and water not detergents needed? curious how it compares/ actually cleans the dirt and germs. i have 2 dogs and a baby on the way i just want to be sure its really clean and not masking germs and dirt...

- The H2O Mop can kill dust mites and some types of bacteria and disinfect floors near bathroom stools, kitchen counters, pet sleeping quarters, etc.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Mar 21, 2008, 10:44 am by Dawn

love the h2o mop, use it on laminate floors every day, so much easier and more hygenic than mop and bucket. The washable cloths are better than the disposable ones which do leave the floor a bit wetter.I have found like you say keep the mop on the move to prevent over wet floors. ace product, would highly recommend.

- Dear Dawn, thank you for your feedback! We have a h2O mop in our staff canteen and it gets used every day, and gets the job sone in no time at all!

bought the mop for my wooden floors works great but the steam stops coming out from bottom every noe n then is this right

Thane says:
Sometimes the steam needs a few seconds to heat up again, but you should find the mop pad is still hot and steam will resume very quickly.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Mar 9, 2008, 7:00 am by Lain

Hi, can you tell me if the H20 stops emitting steam when you stop the motion of cleaning (as he Shark cleaner does)or if it has a control switch that stops the steam from coming out?

Thane says:
You simply press the trigger once to turn steam on or off.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Mar 8, 2008, 7:07 am by Antoinette

im more intersted in the mop for my biege carpets which have dark markings from spilages ect. I can see that this is more effective on hard floors. What level of removal do you think this will this have on my carpet? If we are not happy with the lifting of stains once used, can we get our money back?

Thane says:
I have used this on carpet stains and found it to be very effective especially on spot removal. Just leave the micro fibre cloth on the mop and hold it over the stain for a minute if you find you have a very stubborn stain. you do have a money back warranty which is part of our terms and conditions. You can read them on this site.

Yes - it is great for this.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Mar 6, 2008, 6:01 pm by Beatrice

Does the mop leave porcelain tiles shiney or do I still have to use a buffer

Thane says:
The steam will help and the micro fibre should make then shiny and not smeared!

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Mar 6, 2008, 9:59 am by Sara

Hey, i'm very imprsd, i just wanted to ask if i can use it to clean the curtains, celling lights, lamps and etc...thank u

Thane says:
It is best to keep it on the floor. Use the portable steamer for other things.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Mar 6, 2008, 3:07 am by Eva

Im thinking about buying it! My husband is kind of clean freak. Advert look promising! I just think how would it be working on wool carpet. Is not to hot for wool? I have some little stains on it. That main reason i am concidering buying this mop.

Thane says:
It will be great for him! It should be fine with wool as it is just steam and you do not leave it on the stained area for any length of time to cause a problem with wool.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Mar 5, 2008, 10:15 am by Saffron

Hi,
After having read all the above posts, I'm still not convinced that your H2O is ideal for carpets. It puts me off the fact that you say the H20 should be use to refresh the carper which make me wonder it might not be ideal to actually 'clean' stains in the carpet but to just refresh.
In other words, it seems the H20 is a very good product for other floors but for carpets.
Is that correct?
Thank you.

Thane says:
Steam will help lift stains from carpets and we have extensive tests by the TUV Labs to prove this. What we have said in these comments for the avoidance of doubt is that H2O mop is not like a 'Rug Doctor' machine, it will help remove stains, but it may take longer than a machine that uses an agitating action.
I have used the H2O Mop on many surfaces including tile, stone, wood and carpet, it works great. The H2O is very good on sot stains on carpets, I would just advise that if you want to clean an entire large room carpet you may prefer to consider using a speciality machine that you hire and then maintain the cleaning with the H2O Mop.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Mar 1, 2008, 6:00 am by Patricia

I am interested in purchasing the h20 Mop. We have non slip ceramic tiles so they are not as smooth as the normal tiles, can you please advise if the mop would be suitable. Thank you

Yes, it will work fine on these.

Although, I am generally very pleased with this product, speedy and lightweight, my floors are left very wet. There is a small gap between the clear water unit and the blue unit below. I have pushed as hard as possible with the water unit clicking in to place but there is still a gap. Is this causing the water to drain through the unit too quickly, thus making the floors too wet?

Thane says:
The unit should not leak water as you say. I have used mine on many occasions (even this weekend) and have no problems. The disposable cloths will leave the floor a little wetter than the micro fibre cloths, this is normal. I prefer to use the washable micro fibre cloths for most applications apart from the toilet and bathroom. You may also be leaving the mop standing for too long, you must keep moving it around, just like a normal mop and bucket if you leave the mop on the floor, it will make the floor wetter than you would like. If you do are not using the mop, turn it ff using the trigger to stop the flow of steam as the steam has to evaporate and will turn to water if left in one place too long. Hope that helps?

i would like to purchase the h20 mop i was just a bit concerned about how it left the floors wet i have watched the deostration on television and it looks great i think it was just some of the comments that i have read i have lower back propblem and i think it would be ideal for me i have lamminating and vinal floors i also would like
to know if you only have 3prog plugs how would it work over here in the uk i live in newcastle uopn tyne if i bought one can i pay it instalments and i have a mastercard thank you jane ramsay

Thane says:
A few people find that their floors are left a little wetter than their original expectations, but the amount of water that is left on the floor is due to many different issues:
1) The user should keep moving the mop and should find it takes very little time to clean.
2) Never leave the mop on when you are not cleaning, turn of the steam with the trigger.
3) Some atmospheric conditions will leave floors with more water than other surfaces, this can depend on the humidity and heat of the room and the coldness of the floor.
4) The type of floor can also make a difference. My wood floors dry faster than my terracotta floor.

The H2O mop has a 3 pin UK style plug and will even work in Newcastle!

I´m interested in buying the H2O mop but I live in Iceland and you only deliver within UK. Do you have any suggestions on how to go about ordering this?

YOu should have it delivered to a friend in the UK or Ireland and then have it sent. We will one day find a way to send goods outside of the UK securely! Until that time, we cannot help further. Sorry!

You would need to check the instructions on the comfort. If it is safe for it to be diluted and heated to steam, then it will be OK, we are sorry we cannot advise on individual products working with the H2O mop.

Please advise why you cannot select to pay by instalments with a debit card. I do not have a credit card but would like to purchase using the instalment payment option?

The way the banking system works is the reason for this. It is not possible to have instalments running on debit cards as this is direct to your bank. Sorry we cannot help further as it is not our rule.

i have a H2O mop but when i clean my tiled floor it looks too wet and also my laminatied floors too what can i do

Thane says:
The floor will appear wet at first as the steam turns back to water, however it will quickly evaporate and dry off the floor and you will be left with lovely hygienically clean floors. I tested mine to see how long it takes to dry and on some surfaces it takes a little longer but usually you can walk on the floor again in a few minutes. There is a bit of a knack to steam cleaning but it is really worth it. Also try using the microfibre cloths as these are sometimes better for laminate and tiles.

My light does not turn green is there something wrong with the machine

Thane says:
Plug the H2O in, the light will be red. After 30secs to a minute it will turn green.
If it does not turn green try pressing the trigger to turn the steam on and off, then leave for 30 seconds.
If steam comes out and you can hear the steam pump working, it may be a simple fault with the green lamp not working rather than the whole H2O mop being broken, but if you email customer service, they will replace it if you are concerned.

hiya i recieved my h20 mop..it leaves my floor very wet..ive read ur comments about the water container being fitted correctly and it is...wot else could it be

Thane says:
I saw this comment and went back to mine and tried it again to see how wet the floor is. My floor is just damp as if I had mopped it and then it dries pretty fast. I tried stained hardwood floors and Victorian Tiles and stone tiles none of which are porous and did not have any problems.
If you have found that too much water came out, check the lid on the water bottle, when you remove the water bottle and fill it up, does water come out of the screw cap? If so, try unscrewing it and pushing the spring back and forth. It may be as simple as the spring being caught in the screw fitting. To be clear, when the bottle is the right way up water should only come out when the spring is depressed. If you have any questions contact us: http://www.thanedirect.co.uk/custservice.php

i have no wax vinyl floor
will steam mop work on this type of floors with out damaging floors coating

Thane says:
It is unlikely to damage the floor, but we always advise that if you have a special floor type, you call the installer or distributor to check. If you are still concerned, you should test a small area first in an inconspicuous area. But so far we believe there is no problem on most floor types and have not had any feedback to the contrary.

received my h20 cleaner but did not receive the complementary hand held cleaner when i placed my order, been charged the full amount could you contact myself with information on when i will receive the hand held steamer

This is really a question you should pose to Customer Services: http://www.thanedirect.co.uk/custservice.php
However, we have seen you order and you did not ask for the hand Held Steamer and so it was not added to your order. At the time you ordered on-line, you were given a series of options and one of these was for the hand-held steamer. You declined this and so we did not send it to you.
You can still order but not at the discounted price. You were also warned of this at the time you placed your order.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Jan 10, 2008, 6:31 am by Irene

i have tried to purchase this item but you dont take Debit Cards - there is only options for Visa/ Mastercard - do you not take Debit Cards and if not why??

Thane says:
Irene, you did not read the message on the shopping basket screen! We accept credit cards and debit cards, but if you choose instalments you can only pay by credit card. This is very clearly displayed on the screen when you pay. So, as you want to pay by debit card, you must not select instalments.

The instruction booklet tells you how to put your mop together and lots of saftey info. But there are not any instructions on just how to use your mop for best effect, ie: how not to leave an excess amount of water on the floor, or how long the trigger should be held down. Is this info written down anywhere and if so how do I get a copy of it.

Thane says:
We have a few points in the manual to help you:
Number (13) says "When plugged in, the LED light located on the front of the H2O Mop body will be red. After 20-25 seconds, the
light will change to green, meaning the Mop is ready to emit steam. To release steam, press the trigger located on
the handle, and the unit will start releasing steam. To stop releasing steam, press the trigger again. (14) Slowly pass over surface to be cleaned.
We have some other comments about how long to pass the mop over the floor for best results.
The trigger does not need to be held down, it is used to flick steam on and off and depending on the floor surface and your speed of movement, you will soon get the measure of how to proceed on each floor type you have.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Jan 7, 2008, 7:58 am by Michelle

We have wooden floor boards and i haven't been able to find anything to clean them. Vaccuum cleaner won't even suck the dirt up properly so i am wondering if this will even work on those floors. They are not even and there are gaps and nails sticking out.

Thane says:
If the floor has nails sticking out, you will probably damage the cloth that is on the H2O mop to clean the floor. You should make sure the floor has no sharp nails to damage thesteam mop before you start cleaning, however, once you have done this, you will find it does help clean the floor.

Hi, I really want to order the H2O mop but i work 9-5 monday to friday and wont be in for the courier, is there any way it can be delivered on a saturday or to be given a specific day for delivery so i can arrange time off work to receive it? Thanks.

Thane says:
If you are not in when the courier comes, you have the option of collecting it on a Saturday morning from the courier office.
If you prefer we can send it to a friend who does not work and can be around to sign OR we can send to your place of work.

After reading all the comments regarding the H20 Mop, one of the questions asked is if it can be used on Laminate flooring which is the Clcik type with no glu. My husband claims steam will harm this type of flooring. Is this correct only you asked the writer to look at the comments below. I cannot see anything answered regarding click laminate flooring.

Many Thanks

Sandra Layton

Thane says:
All our experience is that if you use the steam mop on a laminate floor, as long as you exercise the same care that you would when using a regular mop (i.e. you do not make the floor too wet and you do not leave the mop sitting on teh floor for extended periods).
The steam mop is generally fine to use on laminate in these circumstances. However, you should always talk with the flooring manufacturer if you are concerned and we always advise trying an inconspicuous test area if you are still concerned. So far all the comments have been that there are no problems with laminate floors.

Since you do deliver to some European Countries, can you tell me if you can post to Bulgaria as that's where we live and it would save me having to get it delivered to friends in the UK who will then need to carry it over when the come on holiday.

I've just used my H2O mop for the first time on a test piece of laminate floor and am very impressed. Although the floor does get wet, it is certainly not as bad as using a mop and bucket! It is also so much quicker and easier to use, and will be a real boon when my new puppy arrives next week! Thank you.

Hi - I have American White Oak floors - is the H20 good for these floors - I also want to do the stairs (carpet) but one of the comments implies the H20 is not good for stairs - can you comment please.

Thane says:
I use the H2O on my French Oak Solid Floors which have been sealed. It works fine, but I am careful not to let it sit in one place when it is on and I empty it when it has finished to make sure no excess water goes on the floor, just like you would with a normal mop.
I have used it on stairs and it is fine, the comment below was regarding the carpet glider which is designed to be loose.

I was wondering if you could use the mop with a sheepsking rug?

Thane says:
We think this would be OK, but as with everything, you should test a small corner first.

Hi, Have just tried out my new mop and there's hardly any steam coming out (only if I lift it off the floor and peer at it when the button's down can I see any) and it's certainly not as much as in the video clip you've got. Also, it doesn't appear to be doing much cleaning - which may be related to the above. Do I have a problem/faulty machine?

Thane says:
It is very rare to get a faulty H2O Mop, please check the following:
Is the water tank full?
Is the unit switched on?
Is the water tank pushed in properly? Take it out and re-fit it to check.

If there is still only a small amount of steam, you should email our Customer Service team and we will send a replacement when you send the old unit back.

How long does the mop take to cool. What do you do when you are finished to protect your floor while the mop is cooling?

Thane says:
You can remove the pads within a matter of minutes. The steam is heated in the stem of the mop and so the head gets hot, but cools quickly.

I have slate tiles in our kitchen, with natural lines and any grime and dirt is difficult to get out or even scrub butscrubing eventually takes it all out and leaves them very clean for a few days.would your H20 MOP do the job as my tiles have cost me near £5500

Thane says:
You should ensure your tiles are sealed so that dirt does not get into them, then use the H2O mop to clean them.

Reviewer's comments: Posted on Dec 5, 2007, 2:21 am by Mary

What temperature is the steam? Can you just turn it on and start mopping, or does it take time to first heat the water? How long does one fill last?

Thane says:
Well, last we checked water evaportated at +100 degrees Celsius. There is about 20-30 seconds of heat up time and you can get 30-40 minutes of cleaning from the complete fill.

this i greatbut i havr a bath tub withhard as rock birt nothing and when mean nothing will get it out i have even tried the highest chemical in my bath even blech every day but nothing help i was wondering would you h2o mop do the thing ! ! !

Thane says:
You should be able to shift limescale build up with steam. I assume it is a metal bath, otherwise your chemicals would have damaged the bath. In that case it should be easier to remove the build up.
